Everyone thinks that menopause won’t hit them until they are grey and wrinkled and old — really old. But the truth is that menopause can start when you’re still wondering what you want to be when you grow up.
I had my son when I was 36 and I swear, that having a baby that late in life threw me into early menopause. By the time I was in my mid 40s I had stopped menstruating. I know that menopausal trends run in families and my mom was way into her 50s when she finished meeting up with Aunt Flo once a month. And I went through the same lousy post-menopausal migraines for almost 15 years — just that mine started in my early 40s.
I’d be interested to hear if anyone else has had this happen. I can’t seem to find much research about it. So check in here!
